2005: Easton Neston Estate sold

This century's main Parish news has been the break up and sale of the 1330 hectare Easton Neston estate; the Fermor Hesketh family home for nearly 500 years.

Easton Neston House retained the surrounding 200 hectares of park and farmland but the largest portion of the estate was bought by Grainger Trust plc whose annual report and accounts for 2005 said "The estate's 17 cottages and traditional tenanted farm fit well within our core business while the farm buildings and vacant farmland offer excellent potential for residential conversion."

The sale of Easton Neston estate prompted a re-appraisal by South Northamptonshire Council, supported by the Parish Meeting, of the Hulcote Conservation Area which led to the imposition in 2006 of additional planning controls in the village.
